In which languages was the Bible originally written?

The Old Testament, from Genesis to Malachi, was written in Hebrew, with certain small portions under the influence of Aramaic, an old language in the ancient Assyrian world.

The New Testament was written in Greek. But not the Greek you will hear today in a cafe when a modern Greek speaks.

The translations which we have in the different languages, were mostly done by people who worked from the original languages.

Now we can read the Bible in our own mother tongue. Look for a Bible in any language you understand well, and start reading it. It will change your life!
